Being kind is the new cool.

Change is inevitable. We all know that. Over the past few weeks, I feel that the universe has been somewhat challenging me.. Now everyone knows that in life you will come across people that you may not get along with; People who decided to make different decisions from you; People who have different opinions than you; People who are just so goddamn different to you. But always remember, no matter how much dislike you may have towards a certain individual, being mean and volatile towards them doesn't make you any better. If anything, it makes you worse. Although sometimes it may be hard, but try to be the bigger person, and be forgiving not revengeful. Sometimes, it becomes necessary to forgive people because you still need them in your life.

Also, some things are broken, and will remain broken no matter how hard you try to fix it up!!! Learn to let go!! And remember, if you can't make someone smile, leave them alone!!! Finally (just before I turn in to the next Buddha) please take note: Being kind is the new cool this year. It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.

Don't worry, be happy!!!

You haven't lost your smile, its right there under your nose, you just forgot it was there! :)

I am sure you all must have heard of the famous saying "All good things must come to an end", right? Well, this week was my last week at college. I would go on to describe how amazing it all was, but that would be the biggest understatement till date. What I wanted to achieve in this post was just a couple of the hundreds of little things I have learnt over the past two years.

Firstly, you should always be yourself! You live to EXPRESS, not IMPRESS. I am so proud of myself for not changing who I am for anybody!!!

Next, nobody is perfect. Now, forgive me for sounding so cliche, but it is true. Sometimes that one moment of happiness is worth more than those 100 moments of sadness. Grudges are a waste of perfect happiness. Laugh when you can, apologise when and if you should, and let go of what you can't change.

Pleasing  everybody is impossible, but pissing everyone off is a piece of cake. You do not have to be everything to everyone, but you should aim to be something to someone.

Also, if yesterday was a disappointment and today isn’t better, remember theres always a tomorrow so make it something to look forward to and smile!!! Life is really to short to be anything but happy!!! :-)))

Remember: Women are from Venus. Men are from Mars. But sometimes they are from Saturn or Neptune or Jupiter. It depends. But women are just from Venus.

People often tell me: "you are always smiling, your life is perfect". They could not be more wrong!!! My life is not perfect, but I have the perfect attitude towards life... And I am happy, really happy!!!

God bless you all! Keep smiling always!!! Lots of love!

Happpeee days!!!!

Thank you guys so much for all the views!!!!
I started this blog a few years ago wanting a space where I could express my thoughts.. Today, because of YOU guys, my blog has continuosely garnered a lot of success and I am now supporting the 'Because I am a Girl' Plan's campaign. This campaign highlights the double discrimination girls face every day, every where. Its important girls are treated fairly and equally. Girls are always discriminated against their Age and Gender. We all know that Education is the key. By giving these girls the golden oppurtunity to learn - we can be rest assured that these girls will forever be smiling! Thank you guys once again and here is some more information regarding the Campaign! http://plan-international.org/girls/campaign/

Keep happy!

Do you follow me?

      @ItsShivaniii

Ok, let’s be honest. How many of you would be able to recognise these: OMG, BTW or TTYL? If you are able to identify even one of these, let me tell you, you are more “with it” than me.

A language dies every two weeks, according to the British linguist, David Crystal. But the real question is, who’s guilty? It has been said that, by the end of the century, almost 92% of the native languages currently spoken worldwide will end up as “dead languages”. Our leading examples are Greek and Latin (which, of course, used to be the top two languages in the world). What we have spun ourselves into is “linguicide”. A language catastrophe.  Is the English language going to be a part of the same legacy?
It doesn’t take a Sherlock Holmes to solve this mystery. Over the last couple of centuries, it is an understatement to say that we have been bombarded with a colossal pool of new words, ranging from Americanisms to the nation’s favourite, slang. And yes, the culprit causing this linguistic massacre is the never ending evolution of technology.

Technology is responsible for introducing thousands upon thousands of new terms in this century alone. Terms such as “alpha geeks” soon became the ubiquitous buzz-word. The Oxford Dictionary defines them as: “denoting a person with the greatest expertise in a particular area of activity”, so to you and me, a miserable tech-savvy who becomes a hero every time something goes wrong in the office.  Whenever a need for new word arises, i.e. a Lexical gap, a part of society, if not the other, will invent a new word, expression or phrase to satisfy it. Undoubtedly, technology has been the cause of the largest change to the English Language in the 21st century.

Initially risen by technology, we were phased by the biggest threat to the English language yet, also known as, Social Networking Sites. Despite only being a few years old, these social media monsters have revolutionised communication as we knew it. Twitter, Facebook, MySpace and the rest, have dominated society. Let’s take twitter for example, everywhere you go, any company you work with or are a part of, any programme you watch on the telly, you will never fail to spot the famous #hashtag.

Another thing Twitter encourages is the initialisation of words. Having only 140 characters to express your thoughts in single tweet has prompt the excessive use of initialisations such as OMG, BTW, GTG, BRB. It freely allows and emboldens tweeters to use non-standard forms of English. What makes it even more ludicrous is the Oxford Dictionary; Instead of scrutinising Twitter, they seem broadly supportive of the whole thing, with the term “tweet-up” which wormed its way in to the dictionary in 2010. What is the point in teaching pupils at school vowels, if we are perfectly capable of comprehending words without them?
However, on a more positive note, when Twitter was first introduced, most of society seemed irked at the concept of conveying something which is meaningful in a couple of words. Eventually, we got over this bizarre idea and most of us, including myself, realised that Twitter pushes us to get the crux of what are trying to say. There’s no theory proven which shows you need to be a grammar goddess to make a point. As the famous saying goes, “less is more”.

The real question is, when does a trend transform itself into an acceptable form of language that we can practise?

Which brings be on to the one thing that never fails to please us, yes that’s right, the good old TV. In my mind there is nothing more comforting than Corrie and a cuppa. Flicking through the channels one day, I came across a huge number of Reality TV shows.  Reality shows were never a first pick TV show to watch, especially when it was your turn to watch TV, however, somehow, for some reason, because of some people, they have become so overwhelming that one even bagged a BAFTA last year. Words like “reem” heavily used in “The Only Way is Essex” (or should I say TOWIE)  are becoming common colloquial terms used every day, especially amongst the younger generation, yet nobody quite knows for sure what it means.
The horizons for new technology are endless. Unbelievably, the television was only born in the 1950s.

The BBC with their monopoly position was focussed on providing good entertainment in what was referred to as “BBC English”. Publishing a copy of what the BBC expected from their workers, especially regarding their usage of language, was once given great importance. Little did we know that (forty years on) SKY digital TV would transform TV as we knew it. Alongside this new invention, a multiple selection of channels were easier to access. The BBC’s dream to maintain perfect Queen’s English was soon overridden.

We always knew that the Americans had an influence on us, politically and socially. But who could have guessed that they would influence the English Language as well. Americanism have slowly ‘snuck’ their way into the English language; and American discourse fillers are of particular delight. I’m sure we’ve all heard people say “Kinda” or “ya’know” or “sorta” or “check it out”. They are heard as frequently in London as New York City. And of course, there is no escaping from this façade, as the media proprietor, Rupert Murdoch, who has the Sky in his hands, is American himself.

Alternative popular media cultures like the radio have also given English speakers an opportunity to adopt new words, for instance, via regional dialects. What was once the most prestigious of accents, RP, has been drowned out by regional accents used by most TV presenters. Presenters who speak regional dialects are becoming more and more accepted.

Ant and Dec, two important people on TV, have been crowned the kings of presenting (well almost) for 10 years running. Yet, neither of them speaks with this prestigious RP accent. In fact, they seem happy entertaining us with their Geordie accent. Our society has welcomed regional dialect speakers with open arms. The condoning of regional dialects to be witnessed widespread has permitted individuals to express their own culture and comfort.

The possibilities of our evolving language are endless. Having this leeway may not necessarily be endangering English, but the opposite. This new insight blossoms to give people opportunity to converse in a way that is advantageous to them. However, is it worth it? Does it develop the English language or deplete it? Ask yourselves.

As promised...

Ok guys, as promised here's a quick, short and sweet entry about my trip to India! I have been India twice this year and both times, my stupidity and immaturness did not run out. However, reagrding my latest visit, here are just a few things which are supposed to make you smile, in chronological order.
1) Well since I was with @ThePrashantRaja, things were supposed to be fun and out of order. So as we got to the airport, on time, as always, we chilled. In fact, we chilled so much, we almost missed our flight!!! As with every single plane situation, yes we were sat amongst weirdos, fattys, nerds, and basic psychos.

So as if coming to terms with spending 10hrs with psychopaths wasn't enough, the universe decides to challenge us more when we realised that our plane lacked TV's! Whaaaaaa?? NO TV? TV is a basic human right. So at this moment I was already in tears and we had not even left Britain.

Being wide awake for 10hours, with minimal edible food we reached the gorgeous and cold frankfurt! And no, we did not get a friendly welcome.

Touchdown mumbai!!!!! Whooo. The tingles that city gives me is unreal. I love mumbai airport, how theres always a crowd as soon as you walk out.. Paps paps paps!! Me and @ThePrashantRaja then made our own ways...

During my time in India, I did some work experience at a hospital, during the 10days where I was alone working, this happened: 1) I stepped in a dump. 2) I almost fell off the rickshaw. 3)I sat on a moped, to be fair, I do not know why I am still living. 4) I lived on cheese toast for 10 entire days. 5) I fainted, thankfully I was at the hospital. 6) I orderd chilli toast, which came with more chillies than there are people on the planet. 7) Caught an ear infection. 8) Got knocked by a cow. 9) Drowned in the rain, literally swam to my work experience. &; 10) Got mauled by mosquitos.

Despite all that happened, I LOVE INDIA. I love it so so much. Theres just something about that country that gets you the tingles, am I right?

Prashant then came to get me, and togather we returned to mumbai! By this time, we were severely homesick, tired, and most of all EXCITED!

Reaching mumbai was funnnaaayyyy!!! Heres what happened.. tooo much happened so going to cut it down into short!
1) We were at the SAHARA STAR!
2) Prashant then bumps into Anil Kapoor and told him to "watch it" without realising who it was obvsos...so awks.
3) Nearly got raped by the taxi driver on the way back from pizza hut
4) Went to watch Harry Potter, and we both fell asleep watching it. (damn indian cinema's are heavenly)
5) Nearly flew out the rickshaw cause it was so fast. Michael Schumacker in disguise, i bet you!

AND how could I forget, Prashant got somebody fired!!! Hahah!

Anyway, I best be off! But what I wanted to achieve in this post was that INDIA is incredible. I love it so much. A part of me is always going to be in India. And you all should visit at least once. And as for those who live there, lucky you!!!

:) x10

Lately in life, its becomming too easy for us to take our blessings for advantage. Many of us have been blessed with fully funtioning arms and legs. But we dont stop to think what we would do without these. I wanted a pair of shoes and when I was on my way to town to purchase them...I stopped. Looked infront of me...and saw a man with no feet. Be happy for what you already have, and remember to thank god for it all. Its often the most important factors we forget to consider.
To everyone reading this, I propose a challenge:

Everyday, find 10 things that make you smile. Here are mine.

1)My family
2) Friends
3) College (it really does haha)
4) Music, esp my iPod

Redox or Detox?

Okay, okay. I know that I have been off college for almost 9weeks, BUT I swear to you, I have had NO time to blog. So here's a quick 5minute update on all things me. Follow me through this window......

Ok no window, but still continue to read for me :)

Welllll.. I survived, what most would probably call the greatest, bravest adv of my life. I went India all alone and worked, and surprisingly survived... But it wasnt all chocolates and roses..

Here are my top 5 lessons on How to Survive the Indian Vibe.

1) Almost always opt for rickshaws. They are much cheaper, and kinda fun acctually. Often people think that they are slow, and tiring. But I'll let you in on a secret... My rickshaw driver was Michal Shumacher in disguise.

2) Always find a respectable place to eat. Doesnt have to be a 5* hotels. You could get equally as nice food in a nice resturant. The toilets are always a way to tell if the place is appropriate or not.

3) You will always be asked to sing the national anthem of India everytime you go to the cinema. But be careful, India 'filum' fans are mad. M-A-D.

4) Nearly everything is worth it. If you spend money on a top hotel, you WILL recieve the top of hospitalities. Being lucky enough to stay at the Sahara Star, I was fortunate to experience some of India's most respectable people.

5) When I went to the hospital, for my placement, I got approached by many people that said I inspired them.. what they dont know is, how much they have inspired me! Everybody has their own story and their own pair of shoes. Never judge anyone unless you have walked a mile in their shoes.

- O yeah, remember to keep smiling always! X

Your Royal Highness

Okay so today has been one of the most patriotic days ever! The Royal wedding was such a beautiful event to appreciate - and to witness the thousands of people around the world celebrating was just wow. Why should we Abort Abortion?

My friend recently confided in me about her decision to undergo an abortion, after her one-night stand. My initial reaction was to judge her stupidity. However after several days; she had explained that she was unaware that her contraception was at fault – I began to think otherwise...
Prior to its legalisation in 1973, the subject was, and arguably still has, maintained its position of being one of the most controversial topics in modern day history. With essential arguments from the people who are Anti-Abortion, feeling that it is very similar to murder, there is strong research combined with law which proves that this is not the case.
Many women around the world have continually classified this topic as taboo. But there are also many women who are perhaps in the same position as my friend, that need the advice, and more importantly your support.
The endless talks concerning that it is unfair on the hopeful child that we terminate the mothers pregnancy are all too extreme. Scientifically, and stated, in the Abortion Act 1973; during the first fourteen weeks of pregnancy – when abortion is most likely to occur, there is nothing present in the mothers womb, but a foetus; which in reality are just a bunch of cells. So in reality you are not 'murdering' a being, just destroying some cells.
Statistics reveal that teenage pregnancies have risen by 60% over the past decade, and the rates of abortion have followed. It may be the situation where the parents will disapprove, or simply that you may not be ready. The option to abort the foetus gives teenagers, and even young adults a second chance. Facts, figures and fashion are all things to take into account. But what about the impact it leaves upon women? Every statistic unveils a personal story.
A greater aspect to consider is your financial position. If it is apparent that you may struggle caring for your forthcoming child, surly not to continue with the pregnancy is a thought to acknowledge? Also, if you have been made aware prior to the birth of your child that there may be slight possibilities that your child will have certain disabilities, then aren't you lucky that abortion would be readily available for you and that you can put an end to a child suffering even before it begins?
“I myself have been through this process. I knew inside that I wasn't going to cope looking after a child, it took me many weeks to arrive to this decision. Of course, I was called 'names' for months.. 5years on, I have no regrets. I didn't take a hasty decision..” says Maria, Cardiff.
The recent event of the young, vulnerable African women who faced the terrors of rape has opened the eyes of many women around the world. Being present in a country where abortion is strictly illegal, and fearing her fathers disapproval and rage, there was unfortunately no other door left open for her, besides suicide. These tragic episodes occur to hundreds of women daily all around the world, as a prime result of guilt.
Remember girls, we are the victims here. Don't feel guilty about making an informed, mature decision. It is a women's right to have a choice; it shouldn't be commented upon by other people.
Okay, fine. I'll admit it. My friend wasn't the wisest of women here, and yes she does have a fair share of responsibility. But let's use her mistake and transform it into a learning curve. Practice safe sex – and keep up-to-date with your contraception. Nobody is saying abortion is the best option – however sometimes it can be your only option. So don't be afraid.

No words to explain...

Okay.. I am officially back after my 'sabbatical' ;) haha! These past few months have been so so busy that I just haven't had the time to blog, bluh.

So here's a quick recap:
So, I finally reached India in time for my sisters wedding! And boy, was I glad! India was the BESTEST. It was just SO much fun! .. my entire family all under the same roof, fun was inevitable! And I'm also glad that everything went as smooth as a smoothie ;) ..

Whilst my visit to India, I thought that it was the best time to do abit of touring, so I visited many world known monuments, such as the Taj Mahal, and the beautiful Golden Temple.. Out of the many, and yes I do mean many, times that I have visited India.. I gotta say that this year ranked top place.

The entire process of my sister getting married, has been so so magical. It has brought me and my family so much closer, and made so many people happier.. My grandma got to stay with her sisters after 40years.. My dad met his long lost cousins.. And I, well I just laughed all the more ;)

I heard that the Royal wedding are expecting 2000+ guests to attend... Well anyone that's been to an Indian Wedding, would know that - that's just standard ;) haha!

This whole 'thing' has been a bit of a learning curve for me, as well as an experience.. I now know that family is very very very important, and that family always comes first.. The respect for my sister has overgrown! I love her so much, and she's someone I look upto and truly admire. She's the big sister, that every little sister dreams of having. And even though that she is now married, she will ALWAYS remain the funny, gorgeous, and should I say, a little intellegent, sister that I love! xxxx

2011

Where have the holidays gone?
The looming threat of exams are fast fast approching! With ever-increasing workloads, pressures and constraints.. I feel it is fair to say that I am P-ing my pants... Not for the exams, but in fact why I am not stressed for the exams??! It seems so strange that 2weeks have just flown by and I have done 3days of solid revision at most. What the hell.

Exams are in two weeks, and all I can now do is pray and work I guess.

Also.. COLLEGE TOMMOROW - NOOOOOO :(((((((

All the horrors of traveling will be back tommorow! Don't get me wrong - I do LOVE college.. if only it was closer! Anywho - my JP is on pending! Toodles xoxo

:-(((

Why am I SO stupid?!

I got back from college today, and thought I deserved a nice cup of tea! So I got my tea and (whilst mum was out) sneaked it into the living room.. So there I was sitting on the sofa, sipping my tea watching t.v - Sofalizing basically.. And i get a text.. So i text back and what happens?!

I DROP MY PHONE IN MY CUP OF TEA!!!!!!!!!!!! :-(((((((((((

I am SO devastated!!! This is just ridic...
I am hopeing if I leave in on the heaters for a couple of hours, the tea shall evaporate.. I hope.
If not - Then i guess i am luckyyy 'cause the phone is on contract, so it can easily be fixed.. but its all TIME CONSUMING!

Argh! It looks like I'm gonna have the monday blues.. all week!

What makes you special..

It's been a pretty tough week to be fair.. I've gotta say, that it's gotta be one of the worst weeks so far! Firstly, the weather is beyond sh*t - even by British standards and secondly, the miserable ambience outdoors makes you feel miserable indoors!! So, since I've not been able to do much I've just been thinking. Don't you find it quite interesting how some people can move on so quickly? And some people can be sooo similar to you - yet so much different!? And how time changes EVERYTHING! No matter how hard we try to maintain changes, they are unevitable.. I guess changes are good though.. Gives us somethin' new ta breathhh.

It's a horrible feeling knowing that there's this thing want, which you know is i m possible to attain!!! But heyyyyyyyyyyy! There is NO time to be upset! So let us be cheerfull! Christmass is soon! I love the festive season! I love all the family gatherings and surprises! It just puts me exactly where I wish to be :-))))) xxxxxxxxxxxx

Tiredness killlllss..

Happiness is the feeling you get when you arrive home from college, realising it's a Friday and that you now have 2 whole days off!!! :-))))))))

I know that I haven't blogged in a while bloggers, but its due to the simple concept of tiredness! I think with the cold months fast approaching, and so much work to do for the sisters wedding, I feel as if I've just been overwhelmed!! If it isn't family, it's friends, if it isn't friends its facebook! I am acctually struggling to keeep up with it all!

So, my plan here is to give you a quick summery of my past week..
Tedious. One thing which i have never been able to fully understand is the idea of people falsley comitting themselves to another person at a point in life where they hardly matter!! It's just pathetic. This week, I've broken ties with an old childhood bestie.."bestie" is questionable at this moment in time? But to be perfeclty fair, I AM FINE! I feel great.. Nothings changed.. And i'll have to admit I enjoy devoting time to myself rather than others!

Anywaysssssss.. It's a friday night, and i have NO plans?!?!?!?! What a 'kuffafel' ...

Today, it is actually all about India! Delhi are the proud hosts of this years Commonwealth games! Less than 2 weeks ago, India were about to make a mockery of themselves! In less than a week they managed to turn the tables, and make the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth games an amazing one to remember!
However, even though I wasn't fortunate enough to be present in Delhi for the event itself, I was pretty much comfortable on my couch with coffee and crisps tuned in @BBC 1 - Live!
Moments like this I realise even more how much I feel the deepest connection with my Ancestral Country...may have been born here in the UK but something stronger inside pulls me to India/my Indianess.

Did anyone else notice, how all the country's competitors were coming out with elegance and grace.. England came out and I see guys pulling their tongue out at the camera like they're on a night out in Blackpool.. oh dear o dear..

And my highlight of the opening ceremony... those amazingly beautiful saris...

One thing which was annoying, was Prince Charles! While everyone else is watching, Charles and Camilla were chatting to each other non stop so far.. anyone told them where they are... :-))

The colours, the music, the spirituality, the passion, the love, the culture..what we saw on our screens this evening makes me feel so proud to be Indian so proud.. it's beautiful xxx
